Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way to add a scroll bar to a form. I have a form filled with text fields to collect information and it is running on a Dell X5. The problem is that when I open the X5's keyboard, it hides some of the text fields. So when I need to fill information in the hidden text fields, I need to constantly turn ON and OFF the keyboard to ensure am typing in the correct information. Help would be really appreciated.

No, you cannot add a scrollbar to a form.

When using PPC Build, there is a checkbox in settings, I think it's called something like "enable SIP", that will cause the form to shrink in size when you open the keyboard so the whole form is visible (but everything is smaller).

Another option is to keep all your text fields above where the keyboard appears, and use more than one form to collect all the information.

It's only visible if you have chosen PocketPC Release or PocketPC Debug as your target. Then, under Project, Application Settings, there is a checkbox called Enable SIP. Behavior is as above.

Thanks for the quick responses. I tried it and, in fact, everything shrinks. Textboxes shrink to the point where the input text is half visible. So, I may have to add another form to either keep the textbox controls above the keyboard or make the textboxes bigger so that when they shrink the text is still completely visible.

I guess another question would be if you know of an easier way to add the extra form. In other words, I have noticed that you cannot drag and drop controls between forms. Unless there is a way that I dont know of; I am fairly new to CASL as you can probably tell. That makes it a pain when you have many controls to rearrange on new forms. Thanks again!

Not sure, but I'd try cut and paste. Select the objects you wish to move, Edit/Cut, open the new form, Edit/Paste. If not, then I think you just need to recreate the items.

I going to have to recreate the controls. When you select a control it does not give you an option to "cut" it. The closest you can get to that is copying and pasting it to the other form. That at least saves time beause it copies the appearance of the control completely, however, then you have to delete the original and change the name property in the coopied one. Thanks for your help!

I've duplicated forms for years to save having to recreate them for scratch. I first create a new, blank form, then click to give focus to the form I want to duplicate, press Ctrl+A to select all the objects on the form, and Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard.

Then I click the new, blank form to give it focus, press Ctrl+V to paste in all the objects from the other form. CASLide automatically gives all the new objects a name so they don't conflict with the names on the original form, which remains unchanged.

Of course you then have to edit the new form to create the differences it needs from the original form.
