Hi everyone,

Sorry for my newbie question, but I wasn't able to find any posts that resolved this issue.

I have created an XTALK script for automating the programming of modems.
However, several of the AT command strings require embedded quotations.. ie:
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","staticip.apn"

Now my problem comes up as a compilation error when I try to compile the line as follows:
W5R "AT+CGDCONT=1,\"IP\",\"staticip.apn\""

The specific error code that comes up is 12-056 - Syntax error at "IP"

Any ideas?? I am using an old version of XTALK (2.2).

THANKS ~
Brendan

It doesn't look like you are using the Casl programming language, which is the focus of this site and forum. What language are you using?

I am using the learn script function that is part of Crosstalk (XTALK) 2.2

Will post the entire script in the morning if that is helpful

Brendan

Probably won't be helpful unless someone here uses Crosstalk. This is the Casl programming language support board, and if you have any questions regarding Casl we'd be happy to help, but Crosstalk is not supported here.

Crosstalk is compatible with CASL scripting. I just assumed that the automatic learn function would produce CASL or similar code.

Quote:
Recording scripts using Learn

The Learn facility captures the keystrokes you enter and creates a script. You do not have to write any programming statements; the session connection and communications directives are incorporated for you as part of the completed script.

To record a script, follow these steps:

1 When you are ready to log on to the host or to perform any function you want to automate, choose Learn from the Script menu.
2 Enter your keystroke sequence. The keystrokes you enter for your logon, or other communications function, are captured in a script and sent to the host. You can see your keystrokes captured and assimilated as CASL statements in a Script Editor window.

Thanks,
Brendan

There is another CASL language that is compatible with Crosstalk and it can be confusing. The CASL forum you are in deals with PDA (Palm and Windows Mobile) development.

:bom: oops!

Thanks John. You wouldn't happen to know where I can go to find support for that would you?

I accidently ran upon it by doing a Google search a while back for something I was looking for regarding this CASL language. What you are looking for is :

Comprehensive Assessment of Spoken Language (CASL)

Try this web site CASL. It should at least get you started. However, if that isn't the right one and this CASL language is actually what you need, then try replacing the quotation marks that are giving you the problem with char(34).
