Sales FAQ

Why do I need to download and install the demo package to get the registered CASLide to work?

The demo package contains the full development package on which all the full compilers and license key file depend.  With your purchase we provide only the license key file.  As most purchasers will have first downloaded the demo package, for testing purposes, this approach eliminates the need to download a large package when purchasing the full version.

Can I purchase a PocketPC or PalmOS only version of the CASLide?

No.  Our pricing structure has been simplified and includes support for PalmOS, PocketPC/Windows Mobile and Windows.

Our strategy now is to focus on the PDA/Smartphone developer market in general.  Our CASL language and CASLide environment's key advantages are it's compact design tailored for PDA hardware limitations, and it's ability to simultaneously target multiple PDA/Smartphone platforms with a single CASL program.  As we started out as primarily a Palm OS tool, and have established a leadership position in this market, we see our PocketPC market as those Palm OS developers who want to leverage their CASL Palm OS development efforts, and easily reach the PocketPC platform with the same code.  Simply put, we see our customer base being Palm OS and PocketPC developers, rather than only Palm OS or only PocketPC developers, although we expect we'll continue to have some Palm OS only customers.  Our licensing scheme reflects this strategy.

When will there be an upgrade fee?

There will be a charge for each point release (4.3, 4.4, etc.) but not for a bug fix (4.3.x). For all purchasers who purchased CASL 4.2 after September 1st 2005, the upgrade fee to 4.3 will be waived.  If you have not received your CASL 4.3 license key, please e-mail us with your name and order date.

Is my purchase secure?

Our online purchasing system is handled by PayPal.  It's easy to tell when you are protected by encryption -- the lock or key at the bottom of your browser changes color or is no longer broken.  You may also be notified with a message box, depending on the security options you've chosen for your browser.  This varies depending on your browser.  All orders placed on the CASLSoft website are processed by PayPal.

What do you do with my contact information?

We retain the basic contact information for upgrade or bug fix notification purposes only.  We do not release this information to anyone else.
